Our charism
We are consecrated women, present on four continents and in diverse cultures, united by the same call: to follow Christ in alliance with Mary, living out our commitment through the evangelical counsels. As Mary’s missionaries, we carry on her mission by making Jesus Christ known, loved, and served, so that He may be recognized and welcomed by the men and women of today.
Father Chaminade defined the spirit of our Institute as the “interior spirit”, the “spirit of Mary”. This Marian spirit shapes the way we live, believe, and relate to others. Therefore, our life is characterized by:
- Growth in faith and the cultivation of prayer
- Humility and simplicity
- A spirit of family
- Missionary enthusiasm
Our alliance with Mary is a living and reciprocal relationship. We entrust ourselves to her maternal tenderness so that she may cooperate with the action of the Holy Spirit within us, and thus we may be formed in the likeness of her firstborn Son. Moved by the same filial love that Jesus has for his Mother, we place ourselves at her service to assist her in her mission for all humanity. Like the servants at Cana, we welcome her word: “Do whatever He tells you” (Jn 2:5). Our vow of stability expresses this alliance which, when lived with love and total dedication to our common mission, becomes a source of dynamism, strength, courage, and fidelity.
Faithful to the heritage of our Founders, each one gives the best of herself to build up the community day by day. The diversity of gifts, sensitivities, and personal journeys becomes a shared richness. We walk together in following Jesus, living unity in diversity. We cultivate a style of relationships marked by welcome, attentive listening, dialogue, and respect, a reflection of the family spirit that characterizes us.
